For founders

A clear path from first call to closing.

Selling a company you built is a big decision. Here is exactly how we work with you, from the first confidential note to life after closing.

The process

Six steps, shared up front

We send this roadmap after your first submission, so there are no surprises.

  1. Confidential submission

Share the basics: what the business does, revenue, EBITA and how long it has operated. It takes a few minutes.

  2. Initial review

We review every submission personally and reply with our view on fit and our full acquisition roadmap.

  3. Founder conversation

A call to understand the business, your goals for the sale, and what matters to you after it.

  4. Letter of intent

If both sides want to proceed, we put our offer and key terms in writing, with the reasoning behind them.

  5. Streamlined diligence

A focused review of financials, customers, technology and operations, with a clear request list and dedicated capital ready.

  6. Closing and transition

We close, then follow an agreed transition plan to support your team and customers through the handover.

Why founders choose us

Built for the long term

  • Certainty of close

Dedicated capital means our offer does not depend on market conditions.

  • Continuity

We hold the businesses we buy. Your customers, team and brand keep a stable home.

  • Experienced operators

We have run large technology portfolios and know how to grow what is already working.

  • Plain dealing

Clear terms, honest feedback and a process you can see from the start.

Getting ready

What helps a review move quickly

  • Three years of profit and loss statements, plus year-to-date figures
  • A list of owner add-backs, such as above-market salary or one-off costs
  • Revenue by product, customer and channel
  • Recurring revenue metrics: subscribers, churn, retention
  • An overview of the team, tools and key processes

You do not need all of this to start. A short submission is enough for us to tell you whether it is worth going further.

Questions

Founder FAQ

Is my submission confidential?

Yes. Submissions are reviewed privately by Cedar Sky Capital and are never shared with third parties. We are happy to sign an NDA before you share detailed financials.

What size of business do you buy?

We focus on online businesses with annual EBITA of $600,000 to about $1.2M. If you are close to that range and strong on other criteria, we still want to hear from you.

Do you keep the existing team?

That is our intent. We buy businesses to hold them, and the people who know the customers are a large part of what we are buying.

Do I need to stay on after the sale?

It depends on what you want. Some founders step away after a transition period; others stay in a leadership or advisory role. We agree the plan together before signing.

How is the business valued?

We look at sustainable earnings, quality of revenue, growth path and risk. We share our reasoning openly when we make an offer, rather than presenting a number without context.

Do you work with brokers?

Yes. We work directly with founders and with their advisors or brokers.
